Qatrani Camp

Qatrani Camp & Ecolodge was founded by the Bedouin adventurer Sheikh Etman Atwa. Who established the camp in 2010 and chose its location with 360° view of the ancient natural lake, Qaroun Lake.

It is the remaining part of the ancient Morris Lake. It is globally renowned for the abundance of sea, river, continent fossils which date back to 40 million years. From then, he started his explorations with Egyptian geologist and helped them with many fossil discoveries and to many yet to come.

Qatrani camp is located in the heart of Lake Qaroun Protectorate in Fayoum about an hour-and-a-half South of Cairo. It is conveniently located 150 meters from the main road, and you can reach with your sedan car.
