Asyut Valley

The Asyut Valley begins as tributaries, the most important of which are those that begin south of the Qena Valley and head north. Among these is the Habib Valley, which ends to the north in a delta sandwiched between chains of plateaus on either side. The Asyut Valley then turns west to join the Nile Valley in the form of a delta whose base is parallel to the Nile River. Its area is estimated at approximately 35 km².
