Webinar on the role of cooperatives in promoting a sustainable economy in the face of climate change, titled “Can Cooperatives Help Us Survive Climate Change?”
Given the challenges climate change poses to society and the economy, there is an increasing need for innovative and sustainable solutions that can meet the changing needs of communities. From shifting farming seasons to extreme weather events, the next quarter-century is expected to witness significant changes requiring a dynamic approach centered on community cooperation.
The session, led by Drew De Los Santos, Executive Director of the Austin Cooperative Business Association, will focus on how to activate the cooperative model to strengthen an economy capable of adapting to the current climate crisis. Participants will have the opportunity to explore how cooperative principles can be used to build a sustainable economy that enhances the roles of workers, communities, and the environment.
This session aims to empower those most affected by climate change to participate in designing new tools and resources that help build a resilient and sustainable economic future.
